Like many people that come to Marbella, we have known the 1870 restaurant for some time now, but until recently, we didn’t know its history. It is in fact one of Spain’s first sugar factories founded in the 19th century by the Marqués del Duero. An entirely unique building with a charming roof, silos that must have contained grain, an open plan spacer, a chimney for winter and a fairy tale garden for the summer. The first class menu features lovingly produced dishes from only the best ingredients and is really outstanding (…be sure to try the txangurro cannelloni!). Combine that with a background of jazz, Frank Sinatra, Sade and Diana Crall and a great time is guaranteed.
